Objectives
1. Strengthening the link of the Moldovan communities abroad with their home-country and promoting co-development projects

Indicators/Outcomes
Overall Objective: To contribute to link migration and development in the Republic of Moldova and make use of positive effects of migration to develop Moldovan rural communities and mitigate migration. Specific Objective: Increased positive impact of remittances to Moldova through improved capacity of remittances recipients & local communities in 4 target regions of Central Moldova to generate income activities, develop businesses and invest in their rural communities.

Main activities
Conduct a regional survey on youths constraints and the amount of re­mittances received and spent (including categories of potential business in­ter­vention); Develop and replicate at least 10 of best practice business mo­dels for young remittance recipients, their families, local authorities and pri­va­te businesses; Launch a Small Grant Program and select 5 pilot SMEs ba­sed on a competition; Set up a Resource Centre in Orhei region to provide bu­siness consultations and up-to-date information on investment and to offer job and training opportunities for remittance recipients and potential mi­grants; Conduct a series of roundtables in 4 target regions of Moldova to dis­­seminate best practice business models to local authorities, institutions and private businesses for entrepre­neurship promotion and job creation; Or­ga­­nize at least 10 awareness workshops and information campaigns in 4 tar­get regions in supporting SMEs development; Train at least 400 of young re­­mittance beneficiaries from 4 target regions of Moldova on business crea­tion and remittance management, investments and income generating acti­vi­ties; Publish and disseminate a handbook containing training materials on bu­si­ness cycle management as well as elaborated best practice business models.
